AKO will lead the EHT of the CSP plant La Africana

We continue sharing with you more good news.

AKO has been awarded with yet another CSP assignment. This time we are going to lead the Electrical Heat Tracing project of La Africana, a CSP plant located in Córdoba, South of Spain.

La Africana is led by the undertakings TSK, GRUPO ORTIZ and MAGTEL and promoted by the engineering firms INGEMAS and IDOM.

The plant uses parabolic trough collectors for 168 loops. Its main feature is its capacity to store energy using molten salts and solar racking, making it capable of supplying electricity currently consumed by around 30,000 Andalusian households.

Our main goal in this project will be to ensure the criticality of the Electrical Heat Tracing in this kind of plants, how? By means of our AKOTRACE® solution that will:

  • Guarantee the circulation of the molten salt fluid at high temperatures
  • Prevent non-desired stoppages of the facility
  • Provide our technological heater proposal for pumps and valves
  • Provide our control and monitoring system.

We are honored to be part of this project and we´ll make sure to share with your our progress in future posts, the same way we did with Torresol & Sener´s Gemasolar  and Valle1 &Valle2
